LED Downlights & LED Bulbs for Existing Recessed Can Light Fixtures

Downlights are the same as can lights, pot lights, recessed lighting or basically any light fixture installed into the ceiling that shines “down”.    There are many advantages to using LED bulbs however, as the industry evolved it became clear that LED bulbs are the best to use in recessed fixtures because the bulb cool. Bulbs in recessed lighting are confined in the closed fixture and heat build up. Air circulation is important and for safety as incandescent bulbs can burst due to heat build-up.  Total Light LED bulbs have open slots allowing for air flow to release the heat.  This design ensures our LED bulbs produce less heat and will be safe and cool to touch.  Keeping the bulb cool increases the longevity of the bulb as well.  We have 4″ and 6″ downlights.

Total Lights retrofit downlight kits are designed for residential and commercial recessed ceiling fixtures.  You can easily convert or retrofit your existing fixture to LED to take advantage of lower energy costs.  Our fixtures make retrofitting easy!  They have integrated trim, lens and LED bulb in one, so all you have to do is just plug them into the housing.  E26 socket adapter is included so install into existing fixtures by removing the original bulb and trim before screwing in an LED module adapter into the socket.

There are three parts to a recessed lighting fixture: housing, trim and bulb. The trim is the visible portion of the light. It is the insert that is seen when looking up into the fixture, and also includes the thin lining around the edge of the light. The housing is the fixture itself that is installed inside the ceiling and contains the lamp holder. Our LED Downlight retrofits are replacement for existing incandescent and CFL fixtures (compact fluorescent).

LED Recessed Lighting last up to TEN times longer, they will very rarely have to be replaced, saving you the time and energy of purchasing another light bulb for years to come.
